Dec. 12th, 2016 10:35 pmSometimes, the easiest way to hide, was in plain sight. Something River Song had become rather adept at in her time travelling the universe. She could blend into almost any environment, learn about the locality very quickly, and she was also rather good at lying. This meant she had been onboard the Starship Enterprise for nearly two months now, and nobody had questioned her presence.
As one of the science officers, her knowledge meant she was able to fit in quite well, not to mention those uniforms! River had taken a particular shine to the blue dress she'd commandeered as part of her identity - it was after all her favourite colour. For now, there didn't seem to be any ulterior motive to this stowaway. She happily played the part every day, followed her instructions, offered help where needed. In fact, she seemed to rather enjoy the role, so much so that one might question if the act was becoming closer to reality.
It was yet another day on board the Enterprise, and River was just another face in a crowd of different coloured shirts, each going about their business, each with a particular task in mind. She was assigned to research for the day, but rather than accompanying her team to the lab, River seemed to be choosing her own path. Passing through the corridor, she deviated off from the crowd, only checking over her shoulder once or twice before being convinced she was unnoticed, and continuing on her way.

NAME: River Song
CANON: Doctor Who
AGE: Unknown, but estimated to be in her 50s at this canon point.
CANON POINT: Several years into her archeology degree at the Luna University (after the events of Let’s Kill Hitler.)
BACKGROUND:
tardis.wikia.com/wiki/River_Song
INCENTIVE: River’s incentive is to reunite with the Doctor, she’s been looking for him for several years and is yet to track him down. (This works out nicely as Eleven is being apped at the same time!)
FIT: River would fit well into Eudio because the requirement of physical intimacy is one she’ll happily fulfil. Giving her an incentive is a bonus! Eudio is the kind of place she’d like to visit anyway, being the adventurer she is, and if it’s a place she gets to go and have a little fun (all for the good of the city, of course,) then sign her up now! She’ll adapt well to a new environment, find the city and its natives fascinating, and perhaps use it to do a little extra archeology work (and criminal activity) on the side. When it comes to providing physical intimacy, River will surely do more than her fair share - and she has no complaints about that at all! However, while she enjoys things a little on the risque side, she would never cross the boundaries of consent (and would personally remove the organs of someone if they tried to do so with her.)

ANYTHING ELSE? River is part Time Lord, which gives her great intelligence and heightened strength. She’s quickly able to grasp concepts such as temporal physics, and has no issue forcing her way out of the spacesuit that was holding her prisoner as a child. As a trained assassin, she’s also very skilled with weapons, but at this moment in time will not arrive armed.

Jan. 19th, 2016 10:12 pmOver the many times River had come to see Methos, she never thought she'd one day be doing so like this. Normally, she crashes into his carefully-built life, sometimes quite literally, sweeping him up into adventure, or into bed, or sometimes both. That was their relationship, it was how it had been, in his case, for hundreds of years. But today, her arrival will have significantly more impact than it'll ever have.
She takes care in tracking Methos down, she chooses her time and place, to make sure he's known her long enough, that their relationship is strong enough. That's all she can hope for, as she makes her way into his house, as she often does, where she'll wait for him to return home. She's not familiar with this house, so she takes her time to study it, pick up clues about the new life he's made for himself. She takes note of the books on the shelves, pictures on the wall, trying to form a picture of the Methos she'll meet today.
She only hopes it's one who'll be ready for this bombshell - because River Song is pregnant.

Dec. 26th, 2015 10:12 pmAfter finding herself caught up in the wrong TARDIS (and the wrong Doctor,) River makes her way outside, back under the nighttime sky of Calderon Beta. She doesn't want to be late for Darillium, after all. It's taken her long enough to convince him to visit, and the last time they tried the restaurant had been suddenly under refurbishment. She leans against the TARDIS, folding her arms against the cool night air and smiling as she looks up at the sky, knowing soon it'll become a most magnificent canvas of stars that would light up the planet.
She hears the door open, and glances aside, smiling when she sees her top-hatted Doctor step on out of the TARDIS. "That takes me back," she says, as he joins her. "Seeing you in that suit. Our first night. Do you remember that?"

Saturdays were always big days, but today, well, it was even bigger.
The World Museum was open to the trawls of parents and children that flooded in every weekend, a spell of bad weather driving in an even bigger amount than normal. What also helped, was the fact that a new space exhibition had arrived on the science level, one that Melody Pond had been angling for some time, and today was the big opening.
It had taken a lot of hard work and a lot of money, but it was finally here, and Melody was practically bursting with excitement as she zoomed around the museum, making sure everything was going smoothly. She'd heard there might be some special guests making a visit later, the kind of special guest that could possibly see her head hunted. Therefore, everything had to be running perfectly.
Passing one of her colleagues, Melody stopped him with a hand on the arm, requesting in hopefully pleading voice that usually got her her own way.
"Malcolm, would you mind standing by for the 3D showing? Just make sure everything goes to plan? Thank you, sweetie."
He was all too happy to oblige, which was why Melody had asked him in particular, and she watched him go with knowing look, unable to feel much happier than she did in this moment. With her hands by her sides, she did a little spin on the spot before she bounced off to continue with her duties, nothing able to wipe the smile from her face.
Everything was going to plan.

Stormcage Shenanigans
Aug. 15th, 2014 09:10 pmTonight, for once, River Song is in Stormcage.
She's only been back a few hours, and has soon fallen back into the grim routine of prison. Behind locked doors, she lies in her bed, her knees bent and her diary propped against her thighs. The storm outside rumbles forever on, but River pays it no mind, for her attention is solely on the pages of her diary, and all those memories every word generated. She needs that. When she isn't with the Doctor, it's the memory of him that keeps her going, that makes her keep her promise and stay behind bars.
Every page of her diary tells a story of the times they'd shared, long and detailed in their descriptions, to try and keep every memory beating in that old blue book. She tells of every adventure, every fight, every kiss - all with that same attention, and it's the latter of those stories that grip her now. Ink on a page becomes alive inside her head, and that gentle script instead transform into sights and sounds as clear as if she was still there that very moment.
Her eyes close and she lays the diary down on her chest for a moment, taking a deep breath as she tries to ground herself in that, take some comfort in the loving warmth of such memories, and ignore the cold, damp cell around her. If she concentrates hard enough, she can feel him right there with her, a warm hand on hers, his lips brushing her skin. Stormcage becomes nothing more than a memory itself, and he, he becomes real.

Melody Malone and the Invisible Wife
Jul. 29th, 2014 08:31 pmPROLOGUE
It was another dark and dangerous night on the streets of New York. Well, it was always one of those. And that was just the way I liked it.
After all, that was my profession. As a detective, those streets were what kept me alive, and for as long as the people of New York kept giving into their paranoia and fear, I would be in business. It seemed people would pay a high price to feel safe in their beds at night, and I too slept a little easier, knowing I had the villains caught and money in my pocket.
And what villains they were indeed. For I didn't deal with wanted criminals or the occasional ruffian the police failed to catch; my customers were of a more particular variety, and too were their problems. I could say it was because these particular clients paid me rather handsomely, or that I felt some kind of noble responsibility to keep New York safe - but none of that was true.
The reason I did it, was because I loved it.

Personality:
The first thing to understand about River Song, is that nothing is what it seems. Whatever person you’re presented with, could very well be an act. She is the breathing personification of mystery, and hides behind her own façade, playing games that protect her, as well as others. Even her husband, the Doctor, doesn’t entirely know who she is; though he’s the closest anyone’s ever come.
In fact, the Doctor is a good place to start when it comes to even beginning to understand River’s complex personality. For when River first met her soon-to-be spouse, she wanted to kill him. She was kidnapped at birth and brainwashed into killing the Doctor by a group known as the Silence. River was a child born to hate, but grew to love, and when she met her intended victim, she instead fell not only for him, but for the very idea of him.
Though some can argue the technicalities of their marriage, River’s love for the Doctor is very real, and is perhaps one of her truest sides. Compassionate and loyal, her desire to protect him and those she cares about is where her real strengths lie, for she’ll do so with a ferocity that is near terrifying. It’s no surprise then, that when the Doctor’s death was faked, she allowed herself to be sentenced to Stormcage and was willing to endure what would have 12,000 consecutive life sentences, all because she made a promise to protect him.
It was a far cry from the woman who had intended to murder him, for this self-titled psychopath was now in love. But it was a love that once misguided her, for while young, she was sometimes blinded and at times, selfish; at one point risking the safety of the entire universe simply to give her the chance she needed to convince the Doctor to live.
Since then, River has grown up, moving on from that vulnerably torn young woman and all the sinister urges she had been poisoned with. But despite her maturity, she remains very much a weapon. Dangerous and calculating, River Song is a woman you don’t want to cross. She remains a brutal and impulsive fighter, but she is no mindless thug. In fact, she bears intelligence superior to that of humans, for she’s able to understand the complexities of time travel, alien technology and most impressively, how to fly a TARDIS … properly.
She’s also not afraid to let people know she’s clever, for she relishes an opportunity to show off. If she’s doing that while holding a gun, she’s confident, and you’d probably be better off running. But River’s intelligence goes far beyond the battleground, for she has high accolades in academia. As a professor of archaeology, she has spent many years travelling the universe and studying at the Luna University, and has since become an important name in the field.
To River, that is what life is all about, to discover the universe in all its wonder and horror. For her, it’s a thrill and her zest for life in infectious. That’s why, despite her hardships, River is most often found to be the life of the party, with hilarious anecdotes from her travels and suggestive allusions to what she might have got up to on the way. Flirting is a way of life for River Song, and while it’s primarily directed at her husband, River has been known to work her charms on many, regardless of gender, age or species.
But as mentioned before, anything with River can be an act, and although she’s laughing on the outside, inside, she is battle-scarred. But River is determined to hide any damage that marks her, and sometimes, it’s not through choice. She lies her way through life simply because she has to, particularly when it comes to the Doctor’s timeline. She isn’t running in sync with her husband, and often she has to keep their past exploits a secret, lest she reveal something that hasn’t happened yet. But to her credit, she does so with smile on her face; her years of playing the part making her hide the hurt she endures everytime she sees her husband grow younger.
But the truest part of River’s personality came to light the very last time she met the Doctor. The man she had been born to kill, the man she had married, the man who had made her the best woman she could possibly be; when it came down to one final moment, River thanked him in the only way she ever could.
She gave her life to give him their future.
